National HIV/AIDS Strategy Community Meeting

National AIDS Strategy Community DiscussionAsian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center is a member of the organizing committee for the upcoming National HIV/AIDS Strategy Community Meeting. We want to be sure the concerns of the A&PI community are heard.

This Friday, October 16, the White House Office of AIDS Policy (ONAP) will host a community discussion on the National HIV/AIDS Strategy. ONAP will be taking input on three key areas:

1. Reducing new HIV infections
2. Increasing access to care, and
3. Reducing health disparities.

Jeffrey Crowley, Director of ONAP, Greg Millett, ONAP Senior Policy Advisor, and James Albino, ONAP Senior Program Manager, will be on hand to hear your comments.

Message from the Executive Director

Lance, Lina, and James Albino from ONAPAt the end of September 2009, Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center sent representatives to Washington, DC to advocate for inclusion of the Asian and Pacific Islander community perspective in the development of the National HIV/AIDS Strategy. Executive Director Lance Toma and Lina Sheth (Director of Community Development & External Affairs) spent time meeting with key White House staff in the Office of National AIDS Policy and the Office of Public Engagement.
